on Isla Navidad - state of Colima

Colimilla is a small town embedded in the grounds of Hotel Grand Bay. To drive there head about 12 KM south of Melaque and take a right. A more common way of reaching it is from Barra de Navidad in a Panga taxi.

I drove over for a few hours to get some fotos and check out CocoCabanas and the beach area just before you get to the entrance of Isla de Navidad. They are asking $200k US for some of those desert lots while they show fotos of Grand Bay. Use total caution before getting involved in the "Coco Beach" area. Much better to visit the resort and/or visit Colimilla and forget this land speculation .... more below

	The advertising fotos of CocoCabanas are much more inviting than what I found. I've also heard the mosquitoes are in abundance in the evenings ... but the Thai restaurant is very good. You can't swim on that section of beach (too dangerous). I'm really not sure what the attraction is for this strip of beach. ( The word by email and on the message boards is that the Thai restaurant will open the first of November after having a Mexican menu for the summer ) Continuing to Colimilla - go thu the gate of the Grand Bay Hotel past a couple hundred holes of golf and take a right at the third glorietta. Rather than going to "Club de Golf" at the end, turn left and you'll go right into town. Nice little town with lots of restaurants along the Barra Lagoon
