In Mexico, the Sailfish is found along the Pacific side of the Baja California peninsula, in the lower 90 percent of the Sea of Cortez, along the coast of the mainland through to Guatemala, and around all of the oceanic islands. It is reported to reach a maximum length of 11 feet, and the I.F.G.A. All Tackle Record, as of 2004, stood at 220 pounds.
